Hello there!

I’m Rachel and I can’t wait to get to know you! I’m a Student Recruiter here at Nonprofit Film School and I’m eager to learn more about you and your organization.

My family homesteaded here in Nebraska and I’ll be the fifth generation to graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). To say that my family “bleeds Husker red” is a bit of an understatement. I grew up in a small town, just south of the Sandhills, that left a lasting impact on my life. This tight-knit community taught me the value of connecting with people and I’ve been seeking authentic, meaningful relationships since.

I’m an avid reader of history, fiction and poetry which lead me to pursue degrees in English and Women & Gender Studies. I’ve always been fascinated by captivating stories. Growing up, I devoured books, magazines and news articles, always searching for information and narratives that piqued my interest (This makes me an asset to any Pub Quiz team!).

I’ve always been fascinated by captivating stories.

My degree is focused on the art of storytelling, elevating the voices of others and the importance of language in our day-to-day lives. I’ve continued to seek stories and understand why they resonate with others. No matter the subject, it always leads back to authenticity, which is at the core of what we do here at Nonprofit Film School.

What else keeps me busy? My partner Buay (pronounced “boo-why”), writing, searching for new recipes to try, and exploring the mountains as often as I can. I’m also a fan of Farmers Markets, thrift stores and re-purposing secondhand furniture.

At Nonprofit Film School, I connect organizations with our online course that was created to help them tell their stories through video and move people to action.
